The ad is landscape. The whole country is holding the phone upright.

Uganda goes online on a phone. DataReportal counts 40.9 million mobile connections, more than nine in ten of them on 3G, 4G, or 5G, against a tiny base of fixed connections. Almost nobody is watching your content on a desktop.

Yet a lot of brand content is still made as if they are. Landscape videos cut down from a TV spot. Text too small to read on a handset. A logo animation that assumes a big screen and a patient viewer.

Content built for the phone looks different. It's vertical, it fills the screen, and it makes its point in the first few seconds, because that's how people actually watch. Creators do this by default. It's their native format, not a compromise.

That's part of why creator video beats a repurposed ad here. It isn't only about trust. It's built for the exact device and posture your entire audience is using.

Before you approve a campaign, watch it the way Uganda will: on a phone, thumb ready to scroll.

Until next time,
