A creator with 1.4 million followers isn't 1.4 million views.

It's tempting to pick creators by follower count. It's the number everyone can see, and bigger feels safer. It's also one of the weakest predictors of what a campaign will actually deliver.

Look at what happens in practice. One of our most-followed Ugandan creators has over 1.4 million followers. On a July campaign he delivered close to 56,000 views. Strong, but nowhere near his follower number. On the same platform last month, creators with a fraction of that following delivered 46,000 views on their own campaigns.

Views and followers are simply different things. Followers are people who once tapped a button. Views are people who watched this specific video, this week. Only one of those is what you're paying for.

This is the quiet advantage of a pay-per-view model. You're not buying a follower count and hoping it converts. You're buying the outcome directly.

When you weigh creators, treat follower count as context, not the decision. Ask what they tend to deliver, not how many people follow them.
